Quarantine life has certainly evolved our way of living. Restaurants in particular are still feeling the effects even as they are allowed to welcome us back inside their dining rooms. What we didn’t know would happen is that some of our old favorites would never come back. Two westside staples – The Brentwood Lounge and Sunny Spot – took the time off to transform into Mexican restaurants! Did you know that during Quarantine, chef Bruce Marder served tacos and pitchers of margaritas out of Cora’s? Apparently, he’s always been famous for his duck tacos and the margaritas are “heavenly” says one Santa Monica resident. The renovated B Lounge, now
Baja Norte, “mixes vibrant colors with sultry lighting and intimate booths, just as his menu brings together the freshest local ingredients to create an elevated menu of Mexican flavors and dishes as seen through the imaginative lens of Marder’s distinguished career.” Sunny Spot will soon open as
Nueva, a contemporary, casual cantina.
